Friday Night Funkin Remix Engine - V.1.6.1b
Friday Night Funkin Remix Engine V.1.6.1b: The Definitive Scratch Porting Tool
Friday Night Funkin Remix Engine V.1.6.1b is a specialized, community-focused engine designed to facilitate smoother FNF mod porting within the Scratch platform. It delivers an enhanced experience with native widescreen support and a silky-smooth 60 FPS frame rate. Play the engine demo at https://turbowarp.org/609762892.
Final Update: Version 1.6.1b Features & Policies
Marked as the "Final Update" (released August 6, 2024), this version introduces crucial technical upgrades: independent scroll speeds for all notes, the establishment of AYS/SSS chart formats as the default, the ability to hardcode camera positions, and fixes for HUD rendering. The engine smartly defaults to a "null" texture if a specific note skin is missing.
A major shift is the discontinuation of support for the legacy @cabalex chart format. Users must now utilize the more robust and community-supported AYS/SSS (Add Yourself Singing/Scratch\'s Smooth Saturday) format. Importantly, charts from mods like the V-Slice update are compatible but must first be converted using the dedicated community tool: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/666734314/. The developer has opted not to integrate V-Slice\'s visual features to maintain the engine\'s lightweight performance for Scratch.
Usage, Controls & Credits
Note: The lead developer, @n_bonnie2, has moved on from FNF projects and encourages exploring their other creations.
Control schemes are flexible: use Arrow Keys to navigate, Space to select, and Z to go back in menus. During gameplay, hit notes using either the Arrow Keys or the ASWD keys (configurable in settings).
This engine is a collaborative community achievement. Special thanks to: @Space-OFC (arrow vectors), @-KawaiiX_ & @Polargaming64 (icon/logo vectors), @AwezomeXD, @cabalex, @SquigglyTuff & @SpideyPlaysMC (chart formats and essential converters), and The Funkin\' Crew Inc. for the original game that made it all possible.
