Incredibox Sprunki Brud Treatment Edition: The "Best Of" Weird Sounds
OKAY so there's like regular brud treatment, and then there's this "edition" thing which seems to be someone's attempt to make a "greatest hits" of the filtered noises. I was messing with it with a friend yesterday and we gave ourselves the dumbest challenge: only use THREE icons total. See what you can make with just three brud-treated sounds.
It's actually way more fun than it sounds (pun intended). When you're trying to find creative inspiration and normal sprunki feels too samey, these processed sounds force you to think differently. The limitations make you creative, you know?
If a screensaver and a music box had a digital lovechild. I've written "click and drag" so many times the words have lost meaning. Like someone transcribed the sound of a computer fan into musical notes.
If you normally play on sprunki scratch or other sprunki online platforms, this edition feels like a quality-of-life mod - someone already filtered out the less interesting brud sounds and kept the good stuff.
Serious question though: If you were limited to only 3 icons from this edition, which ones would you pick and why? Like, is there a bass, a rhythm, and a melody that work together despite all being processed weird? Or would you go for three completely clashing things to see what chaos ensues?
Also, is there an active Discord/forum for people who are really into these treatment mods? And how is this different from other audio filter mods - like, what specifically makes the "brud" processing unique compared to just adding reverb or distortion? And can I use my creations from this edition as YouTube background music legally, or is there some weird copyright thing with the processed samples?
The best part about playing this with friends is watching their faces when they first hear the sounds. That moment of "wait, is it broken?" followed by "oh, it's SUPPOSED to sound like that." Good times. And since it's sprunki free to play, you can just send the link and everyone can join in the weirdness.
My notes are a mix of technical observations and personal nonsense. The UI uses at least 3 different fonts. Graphic design is my passion. This is what plays when you put a CD in upside down but it still tries to play.
Bottom line: Brud Treatment Edition is like the highlight reel of audio processing experiments. It's not as overwhelming as the full mod, but it gives you the good stuff to play with. Try the 3-icon challenge. You'll either make something surprisingly cohesive or something that sounds like a robot with indigestion. Win-win.
