My Incredibox Sprunki on Scratch
Alright so I was poking around Scratch looking for weird things and found this. "My Incredibox Sprunki" - very humble title. It"s obviously made by someone in the community, probably a teenager with too much time and just the right amount of passion. I can tell by the slightly janky animations and the very specific sound choices.
If you"ve played other Sprunki mods before (and let"s be real, you probably have if you"re here), this one has a different flavor. It"s on Scratch, which means it has that... homemade quality. Like someone"s school project that accidentally became a thing.
So here"s my challenge to you: try to imitate actual real-world sounds with this thing. Like wind, or footsteps, or a cat purring (good luck with that). And you have to do it with only THREE icons. Yeah. Three. The game gives you more, but that"s cheating. Three.
It"s perfect when you"ve got friends over and want something dumb to do for 10 minutes. "Hey watch me try to make raindrop sounds with digital blobs!" They"ll either join in or slowly back away. Either way, entertainment.
I"ve written "click and drag" so many times the words have lost meaning. But that"s literally what you do here. Click. Drag. Listen to the bloop. Try not to think too hard about why this is enjoyable.
My notes are a mix of technical observations and personal nonsense. For this one: "Scratch version, loading takes a sec, green icon sounds like a frog, blue one is too high-pitched, character designs look like they were drawn in MS Paint in 2005 (in a good way)."
There"s a specific satisfaction when two icons sync perfectly. Better than coffee. And in this Scratch version, when it actually works without lagging, it feels like a minor miracle. The community finds bugs and treats them as features. "It"s not a glitch, it"s a secret sound!"
The challenge of arranging just three icons to make something recognizable... it"s harder than it sounds. I spent 15 minutes trying to make something that sounded like wind chimes. Got closer to "metal spoon falling in a sink" but hey, art is subjective.
