Sprunki Gray Revenge Mod - When Gray Had Enough
So there's this running joke in the Sprunki community about "Gray's backstory" that gets more elaborate every day. Someone took that joke and made a whole mod about it. This is that mod. Gray Revenge. Because apparently Gray was tired of being just another colorful blob.
I tried to explain Sprunki lore to someone once. They walked away. Can't blame them. But if you're deep enough into this to care about which character has what backstory, you'll appreciate what they've done here. The whole color palette is... well, gray. With accents. It's moody. It's dramatic. It's a blob with attitude.
The community has its own slang. "Phase-pilled" "Sprunk-pilled" etc. This mod feels like "edge-pilled." The sounds are darker, deeper, like someone took regular Sprunki sounds and put them through a filter that makes everything sound vaguely threatening. In a fun way! It's not actually scary, it's just... intense for a game about clicking pictures.
My Discord status has been "making beep boop" for 3 days straight, and this mod is part of the reason why. There's a specific satisfaction when two icons sync perfectly in this version—it feels more deliberate, like you're orchestrating some digital revenge plot instead of just making noise.
The musical equivalent of "test pattern" on old TVs, but if that test pattern was plotting something. If a fax machine and a dial-up modem had a baby, this would be its angsty teenage phase. I mean that as a compliment.
What's actually different here? The character animations are synced to the beat in a way that feels more aggressive. Gray doesn't just bounce—he pulsates with purpose. The UI uses gradients that don't exist in nature, all dark blues and purples and grays. It's like someone made a Sprunki mod for a vampire who's also really into electronic music.
I've developed muscle memory for dragging icons to the point where my wrist knows the motion better than my brain. But with this mod, I had to relearn some patterns because the timing is slightly different. The drag-and-drop feels slightly off—like 2 pixels to the left. Just enough to be annoying but also makes you pay attention.
There are inside jokes about "The Incident" (don't ask) that get referenced constantly in the community, and this mod feels like it could be part of that lore. Someone probably shipped Gray with another character. Of course they did.
This is what you'd hear in a virtual waiting room in the metaverse if that waiting room was also a secret villain lair. Perfect for when you want to make noise but also feel vaguely powerful while doing it. My foot is tapping along involuntarily to the beat. It has its own opinions about this mod, apparently.

Stuff people wonder about:
• Is this part of the "official" lore? Haha, no. But who decides what's official anyway?
• Are the sounds royalty-free? Probably? I'm not a lawyer, don't sue me.
• Can I use this for YouTube background music? Sure, if you want your video to sound like digital vengeance.
• Why does Gray need revenge? Ask the community lore masters. They have theories.
I can feel a headache forming behind my eyes from the high-pitched sounds mixed with the dark visuals. There's a specific fatigue that comes from reviewing 50 versions of the same concept, but this one at least tries to be different. The character designs look like they have actual backstory—this one looks like it's been through some stuff and came out the other side with a grudge.
My writing has become more conversational the more reviews I write, and this mod makes me want to write in all caps sometimes. BUT NOT REALLY. See?
Anyway, if you're tired of happy colorful Sprunki and want something with more... edge... this might be your thing. Or it might be too much. Only one way to find out.
