Sprunki Realistic: Wait, Is This Too Real Now?
So my friend was over last weekend and we were like "hey let's find something dumb to play" and we stumbled on this "Realistic" version. I've played a bunch of these before - you know, the usual colorful blobs making beep-boop noises. But this one? Different.
This feels like what an AI would make after listening to 1000 hours of elevator music. But like, in a good way? The sounds are less... cartoony? More like actual instrument samples but processed through a robot's digestive system.
If a fax machine and a dial-up modem had a baby, this would be its cries. And I mean that as a compliment! It's got this weird charm to it. The audio equivalent of "placeholder text" - Lorem Ipsum but for music.
My mouse has a permanent click mark from all the Sprunki playing. So when my friend tried it, I was like "careful, that's a sacred mouse now." We spent way too long trying to make the weirdest sound possible. Success? Debatable. Fun? Absolutely.
This is what plays in the background of a tech startup's promotional video. All sleek and modern but with that underlying chaos that makes it interesting. The character designs look like they were made in MS Paint in 2005. In a good way. Like someone tried really hard with limited tools.
If you've played other Sprunki or Incredibox stuff before and want something a bit different, this is worth checking out. It's called "Realistic" but don't expect actual realism - it's more like "realistic for a game about colorful blobs making noises." The goal is to understand what this thing is quickly and then just go wild making bizarre sounds with your friends.
We made something that sounded like a robot trying to read a recipe out loud but as a song. Proud moment. You should see our real OC creations - or better yet, make your own weird stuff!
Some questions came up while we were playing: What export formats are supported if we want to save our masterpiece? And what technologies were used to build this thing? Also, how can content creators benefit from games like this? And compared to professional DAWs, what are the obvious limitations here?
Anyway, if you're hanging with friends and want something silly that everyone can mess with, Sprunki Realistic is a solid choice. Just don't expect it to actually be realistic. It's realistic in the same way that cartoon physics are realistic.
