Wave Madness: A Thrilling Wave Survival Challenge
Dive into Wave Madness, a fast-paced survival game directly inspired by the wave gameplay from Geometry Dash. Take control of a versatile wave entity and navigate a dangerous arena filled with homing enemies, using only your mouse to steer. Survive as long as possible, earn cash from eliminations, and spend it on permanent upgrades in an integrated shop.
Core Gameplay & Mouse Controls
You are the wave (represented by an arrow). Control is intuitive yet demanding: click anywhere on the screen to instantly rotate your wave 45 degrees in that direction. Your primary goal is survival. A trailing green tail follows you; any enemy touching this trail is instantly destroyed, earning you money. Avoid direct contact with enemies, as it depletes your health, eventually leading to a game over.
Enemy Types & Strategic Threats
The arena spawns three distinct enemy types, increasing the challenge:
- Normal Enemies: Basic foes with standard movement.
- Aiming Enemies: Slower but constantly track your current position, requiring evasive maneuvers.
- Speedy Enemies: Lock onto your position, pause briefly, then launch at high speed for a sudden attack.
Enemies spawn from screen edges a few seconds after the "3, 2, 1, Go!" countdown, with frequency and speed escalating over time.
Progression System: Shop, Upgrades & Powerups
Killing enemies with your trail grants cash. Pause the game at any time to access a comprehensive upgrade shop. Investments are permanent across play sessions:
- Health Upgrade: Increase your maximum health for 200 cash, letting you survive more hits.
- Wave Skins: Unlock various visual styles for your wave, including Illuminati, Nyan Cat, Evil, Space, Minecraft (with a diamond sword trail), and more, each with a unique trail effect.
Additionally, collect temporary Shield Powerups that spawn in the arena to grant brief invincibility.
Features & Polish
Wave Madness is a polished, final release (Version 2.15) featuring a global highscore tracker, a health counter, a mute button for the soundtrack (Lenkso - Let's Go!), and a refined user interface. It was selected as a "DACH project of the week" in 2019. The game represents over 16 hours of dedicated coding and design by Trident_MK17.
