sprunki retake unofficial scratch port
Unofficial Sprunki Retake Scratch Port: Janky Fun
Found this thing. It's Sprunki Retake, but someone ported it to Scratch. You can tell. The loading time is suspiciously fast. What did they sacrifice? Probably some frames, maybe some sound quality. But hey, it works! Mostly.
Is there an active Discord/forum for this specific port? I doubt it. It feels like a labor of love that got uploaded and then forgotten. But that's part of the charm. The community finds bugs and treats them as features. "It's not a glitch, it's a secret sound!" I definitely found a few of those. The sounds cut off if you click too fast. Rhythm game players hate this. But I'm not a rhythm game player, I'm just some guy clicking blobs.
The character designs look like they were made in MS Paint in 2005. In a good way. Pixelated, charming. The colors change slightly based on time of day. A cute feature, or maybe a bug? Who knows. The UI has a shadow that follows your mouse. Unnecessary but fun. Makes it feel alive, even if the animation is a bit choppy.
So here's my challenge to you: make something with this that makes YOU laugh. Doesn't have to be good. In fact, it's better if it's stupid. A weird burp rhythm, a chaotic mess of beeps that sounds like a robot falling down stairs. Then imagine showing it to a friend. "Look at this dumb thing I made on this janky Scratch port." That's the vibe.
If you like messing with different Sprunki mods, this is a cool curiosity. Compare it to the (probably) smoother original Sprunki Retake. Or if you enjoy the "swapped" aesthetic, try the official Sprunki Swapped version. This port sits in a weird middle ground--not quite official, not quite broken.
My fingers know the sound each icon makes before I click it. That's how much I've been clicking. It's addictive in its roughness. Like playing a game on an emulator that's not quite perfect. Is this beginner-friendly compared to alternatives? Not really, it's a bit technical feeling. What are unexpected creative uses? Maybe as a weird background generator for a low-fi stream? Honestly, no idea.
Give it a shot. Embrace the jank. Make a funny little noise loop and then close the tab. That's the cycle of life for these obscure ports.
