Piano Rhythm Game v2.0
Piano Rhythm Game v2.0: A Challenging 4-Key Rhythm Test
Piano Rhythm Game v2.0 is a significant evolution from its earlier version, presenting a more difficult and precise four-lane rhythm challenge optimized for browser play. To ensure perfect audio synchronization—a critical aspect for any rhythm game—players should click the green flag twice upon startup.
Gameplay Mechanics and Scoring
Notes fall towards a distinct blue strike line, and you must press the corresponding D, F, J, and K keys at the exact moment they align. Version 2.0 introduces advanced note types: hold notes require you to keep the key pressed until a series of smaller trailing notes are all accounted for. The game's internal logic has been rebuilt, allowing for denser patterns because each note will not advance until the notes below it have been judged. Your combo is displayed centrally, while your total score sits at the bottom. A unique scoring feature adds a portion of your current combo to your score with every successful hit.
Accuracy, Grading, and Technical Notes
Your performance is graded strictly on accuracy:
>90% = S Rank
>80% = A Rank
<80% = B Rank
With a high enough combo chain, it's even possible to achieve an accuracy percentage exceeding 100%. The included demonstration song is Drop - Granat.
This version was completely recoded using a timer-based system instead of Scratch's music blocks. This major technical change enables support for standard MP3 song files and guarantees better sync, but it required the manual input of extensively calculated note timing data. It's a perfect challenge for enthusiasts of osu!mania and StepMania looking for a tough, browser-based rhythm game.
