OSU

OSU: Free Online 4-Key Rhythm Game

Jump straight into the rhythm with this straightforward and accessible browser-based OSU game, offering the core osu!mania experience. Perfect for quick practice sessions or discovering the mechanics of key-based rhythm games.

Unique Controls and Gameplay

This version features a distinctive default key layout of W, E, I, O for the four columns, with Q assigned for instantly quitting a map. All keybinds are fully remappable in the settings. Master the timing by pressing the correct key as circles align with the receptor, holding down for extended slider notes. Need to bail out quickly? Press Z for an immediate map end.

Performance Tips for Best Experience

For optimal responsiveness, we recommend playing on the Forkphorus mirror. This ensures smoother 60 FPS gameplay and reduced input lag. You can gain further performance by disabling the "Fancy Score" display in the options. New players should start with the suggested "Anemone on Beginner" map to learn the basics in a forgiving environment.

Customization and Further Exploration

Aspiring map creators can import their own osu!mania beatmaps into the game by pasting specially formatted .osu file data into the map manager sprite, though adding the corresponding audio and graphics is required. This online OSU game serves as an excellent free gateway into the world of rhythm gaming. For the complete, endlessly expanding universe of songs, rankings, and community, downloading the official osu! client is the ultimate step.
