osu Full Remake skins
osu Full Remake skins - The Complete Browser Experience
Okay so I was just messing around on Scratch the other day right, and I found this thing - a FULL osu! remake. Like, not just some basic circles but the actual game. The crazy part? It's made by @SpiritSK and honestly it's way more accurate than it has any right to be.
You know that feeling when your cursor finally moves with the confidence you've only seen in replays? After like 50 attempts at a jump section? Yeah this game gives you that. And getting a new high score by exactly 1 point - the game actually acknowledges your microscopic improvement which is kinda wild.
Here's the deal: Play it on TurboWarp for the best experience. Seriously, don't even bother with the regular Scratch player. The link is https://turbowarp.org/613688710/ and it makes everything smoother.
Wait, You Can Import ACTUAL osu! Beatmaps?
Yeah so get this - you can take beatmaps from your actual osu! installation and bring them into this Scratch version. The instructions are kinda technical but here's the gist:
- Find your .osu file (NOT .osz) usually in AppData > Local > osu! > Songs
- Convert it to .txt (use Notepad++ or online converters)
- Upload your song audio
- Crop your background to 4:3 ratio
- Follow the import process in the game
Oh and CREDIT THE ORIGINAL BEATMAP CREATOR. Don't be that person.
There's this whole tablet vs mouse debate that causes more forum arguments than actual gameplay issues, but here you can just use whatever. The moment you realize you've been holding your breath for the entire final section of a difficult pass? Yeah that happens here too.
Basic Controls (Pay Attention)
IMPORTANT CONTROLS:
• Circles: CLICK when outer circle touches inner circle
• Sliders: CLICK, HOLD, FOLLOW until end
• Spinners: HOLD and SPIN around center
• Mouse button/Z/X: Click
• P (double press): Quit game
• F11 (Windows): Fullscreen (seriously use this)
The community's collective groan when a new "overweighted farm map" drops and everyone races to farm it? That's a real thing. But here you can just play for fun without worrying about pp decay or weighted pp vs total pp calculations.
Also check out osu! Mania v3 by OliBomby if you're into that: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/220672247/
Random thing: @GarboMuffin, who made TurboWarp, actually loved this project on 31/12/2021. That's kinda cool right? And it hit 65,535 views on 28/3/2022 which is apparently "the biggest number for an unsigned 16-bit integer" whatever that means.
What makes a beatmap "ranked" anyway? And what's the difference between Ranked, Loved, Pending, and Graveyarded beatmaps? Honestly in this version just play what feels good. How do you bind keys for optimal play? Well here you've got Z/X or mouse click, pick your poison.
The hollow victory of farming a map you don't even like, just for the pp? Empty numbers. Here there's no pp, just circles and music. Oh and what is osu! World Cup (OWC)? That's the big tournament stuff, but here it's just you and the rhythm.
What are the best mice for osu!? I dunno man, just use what you have. The game works.
Bottom line: If you want to play osu! in your browser, understand how the game works without pressure, or just kill some time clicking circles, this is it. It's not the real client but it's surprisingly close for something made in Scratch.
