Osu Mania V3 Extra Dans α-ε
Osu Mania V3 Extra Dans α-ε: For When Normal Difficulty Isn't Enough
So you've played the beginner dans. You've conquered the easy dans. You've survived the hard dans. What's left? The EXTRA Dans α-ε, that's what. This is labeled "Hardest" for a reason, and it's not joking around.
This is part of a whole series of dan courses recreated in Scratch:
- Intro Dan Courses 1-3 (Beginner)
- Dan Courses 1-5 (Easy)
- Dan Courses 6-10 (Hard)
- Extra Dan Courses Alpha-Epsilon (Hardest) ← You are here
It's osu!mania in Scratch, which means you can play it right in your browser. The creator recommends using Forkphorus or Turbowarp for the best experience. Seriously, use those. The normal Scratch player isn't great for rhythm games.
CONTROLS (Pay attention!):
• D, F, J, K - Hit notes in columns 1-4 respectively
• P - Instant map quit (emergency button)
• All keys customizable in options
GAMEPLAY:
Press button when note hits receptor. Hold for hold notes, release when they end.
OPTIONS:
Main menu → Options button → Use < and > to switch pages → Click option to change
There's also that color code system again for skin colors. 25500 is dark orange, 25512780 is light cyan, etc. Sixteen colors to choose from if you want to personalize your experience.
Getting a new high score by exactly 1 point. The game acknowledges your microscopic improvement. That's what dan courses are about – incremental progress. You might fail a course 50 times before you finally pass it. And then you realize you can now pass maps that looked absolutely impossible to you just three months ago.
The warm-up phase: 30 minutes of feeling like you've never played before, then suddenly unlocking god mode. That might be what you need before tackling these extra dans.
Getting a 1 miss on a 7-minute marathon map at 95% completion. The silence that follows is deafening. These dans might give you that feeling, but hopefully shorter.
When you realize you've been holding your breath for the entire final section of a difficult pass. Yeah, that'll happen here too. Extra dans don't play around.
The "first try after waking up" miracle FC that makes no logical sense but feels divine. Maybe you'll get one of those on these courses. Or maybe you'll just fail repeatedly until your fingers hurt.
Buying your first tablet and watching your rank plummet for two weeks as you relearn everything. This is browser-based, so no tablet needed, but the difficulty spike from hard dans to extra dans might feel similar.
Dan courses in osu are like skill tests. They're designed to check if you have specific techniques down. Can you stream consistently? Can you handle jumps? Can you read complex patterns? The extra dans test all of that, plus probably some things you didn't know you needed to test.
If you're new to osu or mania mode, maybe start with the intro dans. Seriously. This is labeled "hardest" for a reason. But if you've been playing a while and want a challenge, or if you just want to see what expert-level mania charts look like in Scratch form, give it a shot.
It's free, it's in your browser, and it's a pretty impressive recreation of dan courses. The fact that someone recreated these in Scratch is kind of wild when you think about it.
Final Thought: The creator organized these into a proper difficulty progression. That shows thought and care. It's not just random charts thrown together – it's a structured learning/punishment path. Choose your level accordingly.
