osu Scratch Prototype

osu Scratch Prototype: A Lightweight Browser-Based Rhythm Experience

Experience the core of osu! recreated in Scratch with this early prototype. This project offers a simplified yet authentic rhythm-clicking experience directly in your browser, perfect for quick sessions or testing your skills without a full client.

Gameplay & Development Status

This is an ongoing development project, meaning features are continuously being added and refined. It faithfully captures the essential "click the circles" mechanic of osu!. Control is straightforward: simply press the O key to access the settings menu and customize your experience.

Features & Visual Updates

Recent updates have enriched the gameplay with visual feedback elements reminiscent of classic osu!. These include a nostalgic cursor ripple effect from the game's beta stages and a dynamic ghost trail that follows your cursor movements. A unique "ghost beat" visualizer has also been implemented. To ensure consistently smooth performance and high frame rates in the browser, beat outlines have been temporarily disabled.

Built upon the foundation of peppy’s original osu! (stable/lazer), this osu! Scratch prototype is more than just a fan game; it's a fascinating glimpse into game recreation and a fun, lightweight way to practice your clicking rhythm anytime, anywhere.
