So my friend sent me this link with just the text "don't play this before bed" and of course I clicked it immediately. Bad idea. Good idea? Both. ADOFAI cursed isn't a game, it's a collection of every terrible, beautiful, awful idea the community has ever had, all in one place.
I was playing in a coffee shop yesterday - you know, headphones in, trying to block out the blender noise and focus. Was specifically looking for levels that just look cool, aesthetic stuff. Found this instead. It's like someone took all the inside jokes about "cursed" levels and made them real.
Here's the ultimate combo of flow and pure hype: the moment when you're this close to getting a section, and your brain just... clicks. Unlocking a new checkpoint feels like being granted a pardon by a merciless warden. But in cursed? Checkpoints are taunts. "You can suffer from here again."
On the 297th attempt at the same corner, my finger had already pressed, but my brain was still on the last beat. That's cursed in a nutshell. The transcendent calm that sometimes descends during a perfect run, right before you choke? Here, that calm lasts about half a second before the track does something physically impossible.
Beating a level not because you got better, but because you finally understood what the creator intended - except with cursed levels, the intention is clearly "make people suffer." Getting a rhythm wrong for so long that the correct timing starts to feel wrong? That's basically the tutorial for this thing.

Honestly though? As someone who sometimes needs visual aids or mods to play (colorblind gang represent), there's something weirdly appealing about this mess. It's not trying to be accessible. It's trying to be memorable. And failing at 99.9% because you blinked? Standard procedure here.
The community made this as a joke but also as a tribute. We all know that one mapper who makes beautiful, impossible things. This is their playground. If regular ADOFAI is a dance, cursed is that dance but someone oiled the floor and turned off half the lights.
Try it if you dare. Just... maybe not in public. The sounds you'll make aren't socially acceptable.
