C2 - 3 Coils ADOFAI Fanmade Level
C2 - 3 Coils: When Someone Thought Three Spirals at Once Was a Good Idea
So I usually play with accessibility mods, you know? Making things workable for me. But then my friends had this game night and we were passing around "impossible" levels, and someone found this "C2 - 3 Coils" thing. Looked simple enough. Three spirals. How bad could it actually be?
The community really shows how much people want to create and conquer weird challenges. And this level? Definitely a weird challenge. Whoever made this looked at a normal spiral and thought "what if we did three of them... simultaneously?"
We were taking turns at this party, laughing as everyone failed in new and creative ways. I just wanted to find cool looking levels to show off, and this one... well, it looks impressive. In a "I might get motion sickness" kind of way.
There are known differences in input latency between different keyboards and controllers. Playing this on a laptop keyboard at a party? Probably not the best choice. But we made it work.
The average number of attempts before someone clears a really hard map is in the thousands. I don't know what difficulty this is rated, but it feels like it should be higher. Much higher.
Like planning a strategy for a difficult mission, I had to actually think about how to approach these coils. Do you focus on one spiral? Try to see all three? Close your eyes and hope for the best?
People with musical training have a small advantage on rhythmically complex maps. I have no musical training. I have confusion. This level gave me more confusion.
There's a specific BPM where patterns become basically unplayable for most people. I'm pretty sure this level is right at that limit. Or maybe it went past it.
The rapid tapping technique has a maximum sustainable speed for each player. This level needs that technique. My maximum sustainable speed is... not enough. I can't do it.
While we were failing miserably, we kept asking each other:
What skills should a beginner actually focus on developing first? Because whatever skills this level needs, I definitely don't have them.
What do you do if the game feels like it's running too fast or too slow? Because honestly with these coils it felt like both at the same time.
Where does ADOFAI fit in rhythm game history? After playing this level, I'd say "the challenging relative that makes you question your life choices."
Honestly, if you're at a gathering and want to watch your friends struggle entertainingly, this is perfect. Free in browser, loads quickly, guaranteed frustration. Or if you're actually good at the game and want a real challenge with spirals... here you go.
Props to the creator. I hate it. Would absolutely fail at it again.
