closed v2: When Your Keyboard Sucks But Your Brain Doesn't
So I sometimes work on collab projects. You know, multiple creators, one level. It's... chaotic. But fun. Teaches you a lot about how other people think about patterns and timing.
Right now though? I'm on my laptop. The keyboard is... not great. Mushy keys, weird spacing. Not ideal for precision rhythm gaming. But hey, we work with what we've got.
closed v2. Version 2 of something "closed". Makes me think of contained spaces, limited movement. Like the track doesn't go all over the place? Maybe? Haven't played the first version so who knows.
My goal with this one is to get better at reading patterns. Not just hitting buttons, but actually understanding the geometry. Seeing how shapes connect to rhythm. It's a skill, you know? One that takes practice, especially when your hardware is fighting against you.
Let me share some wisdom, young padawan. The flow state in this game... it's something special. It's not just about hitting notes. It's about becoming the rhythm. The track, the music, your tapping - all one thing. When you achieve that... nothing else matters. Time disappears. You just... are.
But getting there? Oh man. It's like trying to solve a Rubik's cube. That's on fire. And also singing to you. While you're trying to concentrate. Yeah.
Checkpoints in this game aren't really saves. They're more like... bookmarks in your personal tragedy. "Oh, you died again? Here, start from this sad part of your story again." Thanks, game. Very helpful.
ADOFAI is a masterpiece of "easy to learn, impossible to master". The impossible part kicks in about... ten minutes after you start? Maybe fifteen if you're naturally rhythmic. Then the suffering begins.
Those two planets? They're us. The player. Fire is the passion to succeed, the drive to keep going. Ice is the dread before each new attempt, the numbness after too many failures. We contain both. Always.
Questions arise: How has ADOFAI actually influenced other games or developers? Like, have we seen its DNA show up elsewhere? And do custom skins or visual mods actually affect performance? Like, FPS drops or something? And what ARE the physical demands of playing at high level? Like, are we talking athlete-level stamina or just... gamer fingers?
closed v2 is good pattern practice, even on bad hardware. Makes you focus on reading over reacting. Good for collaborators who need to understand different design approaches. Just... maybe use a better keyboard if you have one.
Wisdom shared. Pattern understood. Flow achieved. Maybe.
