ADOFAI Plum R: That 150 Follower Vibe Check
Okay so i was trying to watch some netflix documentary about, i dunno, mushrooms or something? And my brain just would. not. focus. You know that feeling when your fingers get twitchy and you're like "man i should be pressing something right now"? That's when I found this Plum R level. It's one of those community things celebrating someone hitting 150 followers, which like, good for them honestly.
Thing is, I'm totally a muscle memory player. Like, if I have to actually look at what's coming? Forget it. I need to play it enough times that my fingers just... do the thing. My brain checks out, my hands take over. This level? Actually pretty decent for that. The patterns repeat in a way that feels familiar after a few runs, even while I'm half-paying attention to the TV.
So I'm sitting here trying to get that Full Combo, right? Been haunting me for like three days now. Always mess up at the same spot - there's this one spin section where the timing feels... off? Or maybe it's just me. Anyway, here's the thing: ADOFAI can actually get you into this crazy flow state thing. But man, you gotta push through SO much pain first. Like, it's literally designed to make you suffer until you break through to the other side.
And it's weird how you start seeing the game differently after a while. Like, I'll hear a song now and my brain immediately starts mapping it out geometrically. Or I'll see a pattern somewhere and think "oh that's a 3/4 time signature" or whatever. The game rewires how you process stuff.
Kinda funny when you think about it though - every time you play a level, you're basically doing a live remix of something that's already fixed. The track is set, the music is set... but your mistakes, your timing, that's all you. Your personal, error-filled version of someone else's creation.
Speaking of which - how do other gaming communities view ADOFAI anyway? Like, the rhythm game people obviously get it, but what about platformer fans or puzzle gamers? And how long does it even take normal people to finish the official stuff? Took me forever but I was also kinda terrible at first.
Back to Plum R though - if you're the type who can zone out and let your fingers do the work while your brain watches cooking shows... this might be your jam. The 150 follower celebration vibes are there, the patterns are learnable, and getting that FC feels like a legit accomplishment. Just don't blame me when you realize you've been trying for two hours and missed the entire mushroom documentary.
Honestly though? Worth it.
