Hit The Beat

Hit The Beat: A Rhythm Game Project Inspired by Osu!

Hit The Beat is a rhythm game project developed by Ricardo for the CS50x course. Inspired by the popular game Osu!, this creation was completed on January 22, 2014, after 35 hours of dedicated work, with the biggest challenge being the precise synchronization of notes with the music.

Gameplay and Difficulty

The core gameplay is simple yet engaging: click the circles before the shrinking circumference touches them. It features four distinct difficulty levels—Easy, Medium, Hard, and Extreme—where circles become progressively smaller and faster, testing your reflexes and timing.

Scoring and Music

Your score is determined by how accurately you click, awarding 50, 100, or 300 points per hit, and your total combo multiplies your rewards. The notes are perfectly mapped to the beat of the featured song, "Kamisama Hajimemashita" by Hanae, providing an authentic rhythm experience.

Control: A mouse is highly recommended for optimal play.
Tutorial: A helpful gameplay tutorial is available at youtu.be/pUz8GDxik9o.
Art Assets: The game's visual elements, including the iconic scoring icons, were sourced from the official Osu! website.
