osu mania v8: HOW MANY TIMES AM I GONNA USE THIS SONG?!?!
Look, I don't know who @bamboblamb is, but apparently we owe them credit for the "bobo" whatever that means. And honestly? The description says it all: "HOW MANY TIMES AM I GONNA USE THIS SONG?!?!"
This is osu mania v8, which presumably means there were seven previous versions? Or maybe the creator just likes the number 8. Either way, we're dealing with what appears to be yet another version of osu!mania where someone reused the same song again.
The gameplay instructions are beautifully succinct: "jeah" followed by "badly- WELL CHARTED!! YOU JUST SUCK!!" Which honestly is the kind of energy I can respect. No sugar-coating, no false promises. Just "you probably suck at this, but it's not the chart's fault."
You know that feeling when your fingers "lock in" during a stream and tap with mechanical precision you didn't know you possessed? Well, imagine that but with a song you've heard approximately eight thousand times because the creator keeps reusing it. The sound of mechanical switches at 200 BPM becomes its own form of ASMR—except when it's the same 200 BPM pattern you've been playing since version 1.
There's something deeply relatable about buying your third mechanical keyboard, not because you need it, but because you want to try "those new switches." And then using it to play... the same song. Again. In version 8.
The "gamer lean"—involuntarily moving your entire body with cursor movements during intense sections—probably still happens here, even though you know exactly what's coming because IT'S THE SAME SONG.
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO:
- It's osu!mania, so keyboard gameplay
- Probably 4K or 7K key mode (the description doesn't say, surprise!)
- The same song as previous versions (apparently)
- Charts that are "WELL CHARTED" according to the creator
- The implication that if you fail, it's your fault, not the game's
When you start judging real-world architecture and design based on "how mappable" the rhythms would be, you've gone too deep. But playing the same song in osu mania v8? That's just commitment. Or stubbornness. Or maybe both.
The community inside joke that only makes sense if you've suffered through a specific infamous map? Well, here the joke is that there's only one map, and you've been playing it through eight versions.
Getting recognized in a multiplayer lobby for a play you did weeks ago is one thing. Getting recognized for playing the same song in osu mania v8 for the eighth time? That's... concerning.
So if you want to test your skills against a "WELL CHARTED" map that may or may not be the same as the last seven versions, click here for osu mania v8. Just don't expect musical variety.
P.S. "jeah" is apparently both an instruction and a mood. Use it wisely.
