ScratchBeats v0.4: osu!mania in Your Browser
Alright, so here\'s ScratchBeats version 0.4, which is apparently the one that\'ll get updated instead of the older versions. It\'s built in Scratch (you know, that block programming thing) and it\'s basically osu!mania but in your browser.
Controls couldn\'t be simpler: Keys A, S, K, L to hit the notes. Just click the Play button and you\'re in. The whole thing is 100% pen rendered, which is pretty impressive for Scratch.
⚠️ Important Note: There\'s a newer version at https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/456999999/ but this v0.4 is what we\'ve got here. 13 levels total with Easy and Hard versions for some tracks.

Upcoming features (maybe, eventually):
- Level select screen instead of question prompt
- Song rate adjustment (slow down or speed up!)
- Multiplayer (but not coming anytime soon, they say)
- NPS counter (notes per second, for the stats nerds)

- Highscores (though variables for that won\'t be kept, apparently)
Discovering that your favorite childhood song has been perfectly mapped by a genius brings that nostalgia meets skill check feeling. The "almost FC" that ends at 99.8% combo because you blinked is the universe\'s cruelest joke.
This is one of those "osu! but accessible" situations. No download needed, just a browser. Works on school computers, work computers, whatever. As long as they haven\'t blocked Scratch, you\'re good to go.

When you start hearing potential osu! patterns in elevator music, your brain has been rewired. Buying your first tablet and watching your rank plummet for two weeks as you relearn everything is a rite of passage.
The creator seems aware of the limitations but is adding features gradually. The 100% pen rendering is actually kinda impressive for Scratch—most projects like this would use sprites, but they went full vector drawing.
Good for: Quick rhythm game fix when you can\'t install osu!, testing your skills on different tracks, or just killing time with some meme levels. The Camellia tracks will destroy you, obviously.
