ADOFAI: When You're Doing a Gaming Marathon and Need... Mods?
So I decided to do this gaming marathon thing, right? Like, clear a bunch of ADOFAI levels in one sitting. Why? I don't know. Felt like a challenge. And I'm the type who adds extra challenges - blindfolded sections, one-hand only, that kind of nonsense. Makes it more interesting I guess?
But here's the thing: I also wanted to mess with mods. Like, not just play the game, but change how it looks, feels, plays. There's tools out there that can analyze map files and predict clear rates - like, what percentage of people will actually beat this thing? That's wild to me.
And the complexity of some community maps? Like, they have more individually placed objects than some big AAA games. How does that even happen? Someone spent HOURS placing every single tile, every effect. Dedication or madness, you decide.
But back to my marathon. There's this one section where I'm on attempt number... I lost count. Like 200-something. And my finger presses the key but my brain is still processing the LAST beat. Like, lag between body and mind. It's the worst feeling.
Visual deception is the real killer though. The game shows you one thing but means another. Like, you think the beat is here but it's actually there. It's playing tricks on you. So I'm sitting here like a detective, trying to piece together the clues. What's the real rhythm hiding behind the flashy graphics?
Anyway, random thoughts while my brain recovers: What's ADOFAI's actual reputation in the broader gaming world? Like, do people who don't play rhythm games know about it? Is it seen as that "impossible one-button game" or something else? And how do you keep your mind fresh during long sessions? Like, after two hours of failing the same section, my brain turns to mush. Any tips?
This version of ADOFAI (just called... ADOFAI) is good for marathon attempts if you're into that. The visual deception keeps you on your toes, and if you want to experiment with mods, it's a decent playground. Just maybe don't do the blindfolded challenge unless you're actually insane.
Marathon continues. Wish me luck. Or don't. I'll probably fail anyway.
