ADOFAI but phonk
ADOFAI but it's PHONK: Because Why Not?
So I'm working on this collab project with like three other people, right? We're trying to make some multi-creator monstrosity that'll either be genius or completely unplayable. Anyway, one of the guys is like "we need to test different music genres" and someone else goes "what about phonk?"
Enter this "ADOFAI but phonk" thing. And I'm playing it with my arcade button setup - you know, the one with the big satisfying clicky buttons? Not the keyboard. Gotta have that tactile feedback for the phonk vibes.
And honestly? It's actually kinda fire. Like, phonk as a genre works surprisingly well for rhythm games. That heavy bass, those repetitive beats... it's like the music was MADE for tapping along to. Definitely matches the aesthetic I've been looking for.
LET'S GOOOOO!!! CLEARED IT ON THE THIRD TRY!!! WOOOO!!!
Sorry, got hyped. But seriously, when you nail a phonk section and the bass drops just as you hit the spin? Perfection. Absolute perfection.
Anyway, I've developed some weird superstitions playing this. Like, I HAVE to sit in this specific chair. And I HAVE to use the blue arcade button, not the red one. I know it doesn't actually matter but... it feels like it matters? Brain is weird.
My family keeps asking about the noise though. "What's that constant thock-thock-thock sound?" It's me playing phonk ADOFAI at 2AM, mom. Leave me alone.
The worst part is when the rhythm starts leaking into real life. I'll be at work tapping my pen in perfect phonk timing. Or chewing my food in rhythm. Or... okay maybe that's too far. But you get it.
So random thoughts while we're here: What IS the long-term vision for ADOFAI anyway? Like, where's this game going? More DLC? Sequel? Just endless community content forever? And what are the actual limits for custom levels? Like, how much can you really do before the game just breaks?
This phonk level is solid though. If you're working on collabs and need inspiration, or just want something with a specific vibe... give it a shot. Especially if you have an arcade controller. The buttons just hit different with phonk.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go adjust my chair exactly three degrees to the left. For luck.
