Basically ADOFAI: When You Just Need the Basics, Basically

Late. Night. Dark room. Headphones on. That's when I play this stuff. When the world's quiet and my brain needs to... not think. Just flow. Enter "Basically ADOFAI" which like... what does that even mean? It's basically ADOFAI? Yeah, no kidding.

I'm one of those flow state seekers. You know, using games like this as interactive meditation. Zone out, let the rhythm take over, forget I exist for a bit. This level? Actually decent for that. It's not trying too hard. Just... basically doing the thing.

Been experimenting with mods lately too. Visual ones, audio ones, weird ones. Changes the experience in interesting ways. Sometimes makes it easier, sometimes weirder, always different.

Critic mode: okay so let's review this thing. The good? It's straightforward. Does what it says on the tin. The bad? Maybe too straightforward? Like, where's the personality? The flair? It's basically ADOFAI. That's it. That's the review.

Here's a thing though: those "wheelchair" mods that simplify the visuals? They can triple your clear rates. Triple! That's insane. Makes you wonder about... accessibility vs challenge vs whatever.

The average grinding session is like 2.1 hours apparently. Who measures this stuff? And why 2.1? Not 2, not 2.5, but 2.1. Specific.

Kinda cool that this game gets used in academic studies though. Flow state research, skill acquisition, game design analysis. Our suffering has purpose! Sort of.

Random critic questions: How DOES multiplayer even work in ADOFAI? Like, do you take turns? Play simultaneously? What's the point? And is this game okay for kids? Like, what age should actually be playing this? My nephew is 8 and I'm not sure if this would frustrate him to tears or teach him patience. Probably both.

Basically ADOFAI is... basic. Good for late night flow state seeking if you don't want anything fancy. Mod it if you want, leave it vanilla if you don't. It'll do the job without surprising you.

Sometimes that's exactly what you need. Basically.
