Super Galaxy Band

Super Galaxy Band: A Fusion of Rhythm, RPG, and Exploration

Discover Super Galaxy Band, an ambitious and creative “fighting rhythm game” that expands the genre by blending precise musical gameplay with light RPG progression and world exploration. With 14 unique levels containing over 9000 notes, this browser-based adventure offers substantial content for rhythm game enthusiasts.

Hybrid Gameplay & Controls

The game operates on two layers. On the world map, explore and select levels using the arrow keys or mouse clicks. During rhythm sections, hit incoming notes with the F, G, H, and J keys for accuracy, or use the mouse. Strategic depth is added with a spacebar-activated “nuke” for tough sections and an in-game shop to spend coins on upgrades, creating a satisfying loop of play, earn, and improve.

Rich Content & Continuous Development

This is a passion project, with the creator developing 81.9% of the game personally, including all original artwork. The soundtrack is a energetic mix, featuring music from Kirby, Super Mario Galaxy, Undertale, Dimrain47, Waterflame, and original pieces. For the best performance with such dense content, playing on TurboWarp in fullscreen is advised.

The game has been refined through numerous updates (v1.0 to v1.91), which added mobile support, a save system, a tutorial, shop improvements, and numerous optimizations. This commitment to polishing the experience is evident in its streamlined gameplay.

For players who love the challenge of games like osu! or Friday Night Funkin’ but crave a more adventurous, campaign-style structure with unique power-ups, Super Galaxy Band delivers a distinctive and engaging browser-based rhythm game experience.
