ADOFAI worlds 1-12 but cursed 10-X
ADOFAI Worlds 1-12 But Someone Put a Curse On Level 10-X
LOL okay so you know those official ADOFAI levels you practiced for hours? Yeah, forget everything. This "cursed" version someone made is like... remember that level 10-X that was already kind of mean? Well now it's possessed. I was streaming this the other night and my chat was losing it every time I failed, which was often.
#37: When you start seeing geometric patterns and potential "tap points" in everyday objects. Dude, after playing this cursed version I was looking at floor tiles in my kitchen like "hmm, that could be a rhythm pattern." Need help.
So this thing is basically all the worlds 1 through 12, but someone went into the editor and did... stuff. To level 10-X specifically. I'm focusing on visual storytelling in my own levels, so I was curious how other creators modify existing content. This isn't just harder - it's weirder. The patterns make less sense visually but somehow still work rhythmically? It's confusing.
#58: Judging a level not just by difficulty, but by its "rhythmic integrity"—how well the map *feels*. And honestly? This cursed version... has integrity. In a twisted way. It feels intentional, not just random hard.
My goal was to make my first actually playable community level, but playing this made me realize how much work goes into even modifying existing stuff. Like, you can't just throw random obstacles in and call it a day. The rhythm has to still... rhyme, you know?
#79: The communal trauma around specific maps: "One Snowy Night," "Freedom Dive," "The Big Black." I feel like this cursed 10-X is trying to join that club. And it might succeed.
Streaming it was hilarious though. Every time I'd get past a tricky part, something new would pop up. Chat was like "NO WAY THEY PUT THAT THERE" and I'm just sitting there trying not to laugh while also concentrating. Not easy.
Couple questions that came up while playing:
- How do you properly test a custom level while you're creating it? Like, do you play it 100 times yourself first? (E7)
- What tools actually exist for finding new community levels? Because this one just showed up and I have no idea where it came from originally. (F12)
- What are the actual limits of what you can create in ADOFAI? Like, is there stuff the engine just won't allow? (K14)
#94: Mapping collabs where two creators' styles clash to create something wonderfully chaotic. This feels like that. Like someone took the original 10-X and their chaotic friend added "improvements."
#116: The cultural osmosis where ADOFAI mapping techniques influence other rhythm games. I can see it happening - this kind of cursed remix mentality is spreading.
Anyway, if you've played the official levels to death and want something familiar but messed up, this is your jam. It's free to play in browser, no download. Good for when you're streaming and want to suffer entertainingly in front of an audience. Or just for laughing at how creative people can be when they decide to ruin a perfectly good level.
Shoutout to whoever made this. I hate it. I'm going to play it again.
