ADOFAI - Neo Cosmos T2 But I added too many swirls
Neo Cosmos T2: When Swirls Attack
So I make content sometimes. Stream a bit, record some gameplay, that kinda thing. Always looking for stuff that's engaging to watch AND play. This "Neo Cosmos T2 but I added too many swirls" thing? Definitely engaging. Possibly too engaging.
Playing on my laptop because my main setup is... elsewhere. And this laptop keyboard is TERRIBLE for rhythm games. Mushy keys, weird response times, the whole thing. But hey, challenge accepted?
And it makes me wanna make my own levels. Like, I play this and think "I could do this but better" or at least "I could do this but different". The editor seems complicated but maybe if I just... start simple?
Analytical time: Let's talk about these swirls. The creator wasn't kidding - there are SO MANY swirls. Like, swirling within swirls. Swirlception. And the timing on them is... precise. Almost too precise. There's a pattern where you have to hit on the third rotation of a swirl while another swirl is doing something else entirely. It's mathematically beautiful and practically torture.
The focus headache is real though. After like an hour of trying to analyze these patterns, my brain feels like it's been through a blender. A swirling blender, appropriately enough.
You know that breath you take right before a clear attempt? The "calm before the storm" thing? I do that every time now. Deep breath in, hold it, exhale slowly... then immediately mess up on the first note. Very zen.
And I get this itch sometimes. Hear a song somewhere and immediately start thinking "oh that would make a great ADOFAI map". Like, my fingers twitch imagining the patterns. It's a problem. Or a gift? Depends on the day.
So technical questions while we're being analytical: How DOES the combo system actually work? Like, if I break combo in the middle of all these swirls, does it completely wreck my score? Or is there some forgiveness? And what actually makes for good level design for learning? Like, if I ever make my own level (with appropriate swirl amounts, not TOO many), what should I keep in mind?
This "too many swirls" version of Neo Cosmos T2 is... a lot. But in a good way if you're into that sort of thing. Perfect for content creators looking for something visually engaging and technically challenging. Just... maybe don't play it on a bad laptop keyboard unless you hate yourself a little bit.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go listen to some music and not imagine how I'd map it. Probably fail at that too.
